Areas of study for the regions and countries of the world will include: history, geography, government, economics, and culture. 8th Grade Social Studies: American History This course starts with the earliest history of the United States through the 19th century. Emphisis will be placed on: the European settlement of North American and their effect on the Native Americans, slavery, the formation of the U.S Government, major militay conflict, immigration, and social issues.
