Waco High School is designated as a Demonstration Center through The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sport.

A Demonstration Center school is one that clearly emphasizes physical activity and fitness in its physical education program. These schools are available for observation by teachers, administrators, and community members.

Waco High School is one of seven schools in Iowa to receive this honor.

This course is designed to develop an understanding of the principles necessary for promoting lifetime wellness, clarifying values, living effectively and improving the quality of life. This course will allow the student to assess their own lifestyle choices and to make adjustments where appropriate.
