In this class we will learn how to use variables and procedures to solve problems. We will use this with equations, expressions and inequalities dealing with addition,subtraction,multiplication, and division. We intend to cover the first half of the algebra 1 book.
We will take a 15-25 point quiz on every section, after we have went over it for at least 2 days. We will have a 100 point test half way through each chapter, and at the end of each chapter. They will do all their daily work in a notebook, and it will be worth 50 points. They will get a 20 point daily asignment grade every week. If they get their assignments completed they will do ok in this class.
All assignments have to be completed before they take their chapter tests. Any student getting below a 70% on a test can come in after school the day the test is handed back, or the next day. If they can demonstrate increased knowledge of the material they can raise their test score to a maximum of 70%. |
