We are glad you came to visit our website. I have been teaching kindergarten since 2003 and I really enjoy working with this age group. I have my Masters in Education from Graceland University and love to learn new teaching ideas. In kindergarten we are busy exploring letters and doing many sound activities with our reading series, guided reading groups, and literacy centers. We have a specialized independent reading program called RAH (Reading At Home) were children can read little books at their comfort level. We have implemented the 6+1 Trait Writing Program where children learn the important components of the writing process. Our math program is dap (developmental activities program). It is a hands-on manipulatives approach that incorporates teacher questioning with higher-order thinking by children.Our FOSS science units are Trees and Animals Two by Two.In Social Studies our focus is on families, and community workers. We welcome volunteers and encourage parental involvement in and out of the classroom!
