Welcome to the webpage of Mrs. Andrews. I have been teaching full time at WACO Elementary since 2005. I worked in the district previously as a substitute teacher and the After School Activities Director.
I encourage a democratic classroom where students are allowed to vote on issues as they arise. We stress teamwork where students use their strengths to help all students achieve success.
I have a diverse educational background with degrees in Psychology, where I have additional training in child and brain development, Aviation Electronics and Elementary Education. Additionally, I have training in Low Ropes Course Team Building and Alcohol Prevention.
My personal interests include being a diehard Cubs fan. I love to find unusual uses for items like turning junk mail into homemade paper. I enjoy growing medicinal herbs and perennials. Travelling to learn about new cultures, the people and the food have taken me to places like Alaska, Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
I enjoy incorporating humor and story telling into my classroom. I encourage students to relate what they learn in class to their personal lives for increased understanding. |
